Rini Pius (44), wife of prominent UK-based social worker and Director of the British South India Council of Commerce (BSICC) Pius Kunnassery, passed away in Kerala following an illness. The final rites and funeral services will be held later at the Malankara Catholic Church in Kollad, Kottayam. The family resides in Gloucestershire near Bristol, UK.
Her husband, Pius Kunnassery, is the nephew of the late Mar Kuryakose Kunnacherry, the former Archbishop of the Kottayam Archdiocese. Rini was the daughter of Abraham Chacko (Rajan Karukayil) and Valsamma Chacko, who reside in Germany, and the sister of Renju Karukayil. She is survived by her three children: Maria (21), Achu (19), and Sana (13). The British-Malayali expatriate community has expressed profound grief and condolences over her untimely demise.
